Brian, Charlotte, and their four kids are a close-knit family. Brian commissioned Medusa Foundry to create portraits of his children in Argentium as mother’s bag charms; a surprise gift for Charlotte.

Process
Discovery
Meet with me, align on your goal, and discuss scope including cost and timeline.
Posing
Get 3D scanned where you’re most comfortable - at home or at my studio.
Refinement
Digital refinement to remove unwanted scanned artifacts, scale the models, and review with the client.
Wax Print
3D print in a wax resin, clean and remove supports, and review with the client.
Investment Mold
Add wax sprues to the prints, mix investment (plaster), pour around the print in a steel flask, let harden, and begin a kiln burnout
Casting
Cast in bronze, silver or gold. Review with the client.
Finishing
Remove metal sprues, deburr, pickle or sandblast, polish, add hardware and findings like chains, and review with client.
Studio
Eli works out of Artisans Asylum in Boston, using the Design Lab, Digital Fabrication shop, Casting shop, Jewelry shop, and Metal shop.
